Humid hikers...anyone?

Hope everyone had a good weekend!  Although I can't say I've loved every second of the humidity and the heat this summer, I can say I've loved the chance to get outside and unwind a little (even if it has been rare)!  Here are some pics from my hike yesterday (and my first mobile upload)!  I love the heart etched into the old bench arm!  I always wonder how long things like that have been there...

          

Up Up and Away

It's August already?!?  How does time always seem to go by so quickly?

Well, it's Monday, which means it's a workday - both at the desk and the sewing machine - because this Monday also means I'm under 24 hours from needing to be ready for the Tom's Style Your Sole Charity Fashion Show at Cabana.

These aren't the Tom's I've designed, but I can't say I'd be upset if I had this pair that Evelina Rodriguez designed while working for the company:

                                     

And while we're on the balloon theme, check out this necklace I bought a few weeks ago from Violet Bella.  There's just something about hot air balloons that makes you feel like a little kid again!

Or maybe it's just my true love for Up! shining through...

"We've only just begun..."

My great-grandmother, Annie Eva (who my sisters, brother, and I fondly referred to as "E") had a small music box similar to the one here, that would play the melody of "We've Only Just Begun".  Of course, only after it was wound around and around and around until our little hands could no longer grasp onto the winder; which, for some reason, they never made any longer than the diameter of a penny.

Don't you just love what Just Me Jewelry has done with this antique music box?!  And it plays "We've Only Just Begun" too - how perfect!
